The first and only ever space-tested movement

The Fortis Werk 17 Automatic Manufacture Calibre features a column wheel chronograph for enhanced reliability.
It was tested in collaboration with the Swedish Space Corporation. The test consisted of a number of movements fixed on a gondola driven by a stratospheric balloon. Launched at the Esrange Space Center, the test-batch took off into the Stratosphere. After a flight time of 1.5 hours under the harsh cosmic conditions, the movements came back down and landed in the vast forest landscape of Finland. A year later in 2022 the movements have been successfully tested during a rocket campaign. For more details please visit the Fortis YouTube channel
